Like many other European motorbike brands, such as BMW, Ducati or Triumph, the Italian Moto Guzzi also has a large fan base. With more than 100 years of history, Moto Guzzi has written important pages in the history of Italian motorcycling, and Zard has always honoured its models with an extensive catalogue of exhaust systems.

What was the first Zard exhaust system for Triumph?

The first exhaust created by Officine Italiane Zard for a Triumph model was the innovative stainless steel conical model for the Speed Triple, in 2004. It was a racing exhaust, designed as part of the bike's preparation kit for participation in the Trofeo Speed, a one-make competition run at the time by Triumph Italia. The success of this exhaust soon went beyond the track gates, becoming a must-have for all fans of the British streetfighter. The shape of this iconic exhaust has never left Zard and Triumphs: duly revamped, it can still be found today in the lines of the exhaust for the Street Triple 765 or in the racing slip-on for the powerful Speed Triple 1200.

A winning partnership: Officine Italiane Zard and Guareschi Moto

Precisely in the name of its high degree of specialisation, technological expertise and design skills, Officine Italiane Zard has been a technical partner of Guareschi Moto for more than 10 years. Guareschi Moto is a true atelier founded in Parma, in the heart of Italy, by the Guareschi family and has always been dedicated to the care and tuning of Guzzi motorbikes. Managing Guareschi Moto for many years now are the brothers Gianfranco and Vittoriano, both with a past in international competitions, who have created the Gcorse programme, aimed at all enthusiasts who want to improve the performance of their Moto Guzzi and even take them to the track. For Gcorse, Zard has thus developed a range of high-performance exhaust systems and components, which are applied on various models in the Moto Guzzi range. The culmination of the Guareschi brothers' philosophy and the Gcorse programme is the fascinating Varano kit, created to bring a powerful twin-cylinder racing bike to life and which includes the complete exhaust system designed by Officine Italiane Zard.

Thanks to the long-term collaboration with Guareschi Moto, as of 2018 Officine Italiane Zard has become the technical partner and sole supplier of racing exhaust systems for the Trofeo Moto Guzzi Fast Endurance. This fascinating competition is structured in a series of races in which crews of two riders challenge each other on the best Italian circuits riding Moto Guzzi V7 850s equipped with Gcorse's racing preparation kit - obviously equipped with an exhaust system specially designed by Officine Italiane Zard. Thanks to this experience, first with the 750cc model and for the last couple of years with the newer 850cc, Zard has been able to acquire an enormous knowledge of the V7 platform and thus transfer it to the production of exhaust systems for road use, of various types: from the simplest slip-ons to complete kits, homologated or racing. Moreover, Zard has created its own exhausts for all generations of Moto Guzzi V7, with different shapes and finishes: among the many available, you are sure to find the one that suits your style and that of your V7!

What's next for the Moto Guzzi range from Zard.

Always keeping a close eye on what's new in the motorbike market, at the last Motor Bike Expo 2023, held in Verona, Officine Italiane Zard previewed the prototype of its new exhaust system for the fascinating and modern Moto Guzzi V100 - the model that the Italian manufacturer launched to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Enthusiasts can therefore expect that soon, this prototype will become reality: to stay up-to-date, as always, the invitation is to follow Officine Italiane Zard's Instagram and Facebook pages!
